Working Out

Does anyone here workout?

I've been working out consistently for about a month and a half. I've tried various times before, but I'd always lose interest or motivation. This time I've kept the motivation and I'm starting to see results. And no, I won't post up a photo until I reach my ideal body weight. I'm aiming for 180lbs (81.6kg) by next summer.
I have a naturally small body type, so I'm trying to aim for eating over 3000 calories a day.

I have a four day a week workout plan:
Day 1 - 80 push-ups, 10 pull-ups, 40 sit-ups, 10 minutes of boxing
Day 2 - Rest (I try to eat a lot this day)
Day 3 - 80 push-ups, 10 pull-ups, 40 sit-ups, 10 minutes of boxing
Day 4 - 60 squats, 10 minutes of cardio, 30 sit-ups, 20 leg movement thingies I saw on Youtube
Day 5-80 push-ups, 10 pull-ups, 40 sit-ups, 10 minutes of boxing, 60 squats and 20 of those leg movement thingies.
Day 6 & 7 - Rest time!

I feel much better since working out. I feel stronger, I have more stamina when running and my body looks much more toned. Whenever I have sex now, I find myself looking less at the woman and more at myself, to see how great my body looks.

Impressive. It's almost next summer, how's this going for you?

I miss working out, but haven't taken the time and effort to get back into it. I had been doing Insanity, but a week long business trip killed that for me. It was awesome, though. I agree that it provides more energy and stamina. All around regular activity makes one feel a ton better. First two days of Insanity was pure pain, though.

meh... I don't care much for working out.

I like the way I look and see very little reason to change it actively. Sure, I could probably lose a few pounds, and I have been making a few more healthy choices, but a full-on regiment is something I never really wanted to do.

Mostly because it got beat outta me in Football.

Everyone was always really disparaging and the actual gym sessions were atrocious. Since then, I have never stepped in a gym again. Really, the only reason I feel like losing weight would be nice is so that my belly hair isn't considered as gross... hahaha

I started swimming again this week. Second session tonight.

It's one of the only sports I actually enjoy doing :D (unlike running... god I hate running) and one of the only sports I'll actually keep up with as long as I've got someone to join me.

Skating's (or blading if you want to be specific) another one, but haven't done that in a while now. The weather hasn't been optimal (although there's an indoor skate park nearby that opened recently).

Most important thing for me is that I like it and don't feel obligated to do it. I need a bit of pressure to go, to be motivated, though. I'll rarely go by myself, but other than that it can't become too routine, in the sense that the routine can't take priority over the fact that I enjoy doing it with my friends. (giggity)

I've tried several times over the last couple years to get into working out, even if just to lose the beer gut I have gained since I stopped walking to work. I find it hard to keep motivated though, probably due to my major impatience and my somewhat annoying dependance on having a project partner. I'm going to start again though, hopefully I can lose the weight. Also walks/jogs at night are refreshing as balls.

Lost in the dark scary part of my mind

I don't work out. I think I tried it a couple times. (And thought about it more often than that.) Truthfully, weight wise I've never needed to. I have an insanely high metabolism, which I know will slow down in the next ten years. I figure I'll worry about it when I get there. I might actually start a light routine in the next few months (after this little boy is born) since I might have a few extra pounds then. Not much though. I gained the minimum amount for this pregnancy. I did a happy dance when I broke 150 at 8 months. I'm a bit of a dork, though.

Truthfully, I don't like exercise. I hate running/jogging. I have a bad back, so crunches/push ups suck, and even with swimming, I enjoy it on a recreational basis, but I lose interest if someone tells me I need to do it. Regardless of that, I actually am toned, just from picking up/carrying my toddler and walking around with her at the park. Go parenthood?? ^.^

I kept it up until about November, and then I stopped because of an injury to my knee and spine. I then sort of picked it up at a slower pace after the New Year, but I really need to up the pace now. In my next paycheck, I'm going to purchase a weight-set. Bodyweight is okay, but I feel I will be more motivated, and receive better results, with free weights. So I might get some second hand dumbells and EZ bars.

I've worked it out and a gym membership could cost around £500-600 a year, which on my current salary I could pay off in two or three paychecks, but I'd much rather buy my own set so I don't have to succumb to draconian contacts that won't let me quit if I want to and I can work out at my own pace. No travelling on the bus or train reeking of sweat and no waiting for other people to finish with their workout routines. I can get a basic weight-set for about £50-70 and then upgrade it later on. Which is still much cheaper than a gym contract.

As of thursday I've gone swimming 4 times and I'm already back at 2km an hour. The coming week should see that rise even further. Feels good being able to get back up to where I was so fast.
