Even if you don't speak or understand a foreign language, you can probably tell which language is being spoken. For example, you can tell whether someone is speaking Chinese, German or Italian, without actually understanding a word of it. I've always found that pretty amazing, but what has really interested me, is how English would sound to someone who doesn't understand English. Well, here it is. A video depicting how 'fake English' sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Vt4Dfa4fOEY Sounds a bit like Simlish. It feels like I should understand the dialogue, but I can't actually point to what they are exactly saying. Edited by Setoshin, Dec 10 2011, 10:23 PM.

O.o Very interesting. I felt like I should know what they were saying, and I'd catch random words - Ones that I assume would be easily translatable, like oui in french or Dankeschön in german - but it was gobbledygook, even though I really thought I should know it. *shrug* That was fascinating. Thank you for sharing that Seto. ^^ |
