Giving away a buddy key I got with the game Fallen Earth. Input it during your account creation to get 15 days free (as opposed to the standard 10 day trial account).

Buddy Key

FMNC4-JYAY3-YNXM3-ATZGW

Fallen Earth is a sandbox post-apocalyptic MMO from the indie developers Icarus Studios.

Features a great apocalyptic setting, various mounts/vehicles, extensive crafting system, third + first person real-time combat (which could use some work), regular patches/fixes/updates/improvements, a nice community, help channel, tutorials, optional PvP, ability to define your own class and role, clans, in-game voice chat in parties, etc etc.

In the future combat animations will be improved, player housing will be implemented, and faster travel designed, and more I can't bother to think of.

Potential cons: Not many social features (such as world chat), the combat animations and a few areas need a little polish, could have more customization options during creation but not half bad.

Anywho, it is pay-to-pay. $14.99 a month. The box or download can range between $28 - $40ish depending where you buy from, comes with 1 month free.

"Currently, Fallen Earth won't be carried by retail stores outside the United States, but the game will be available through digital download from selected distribution partners."

Please let me know via post or PM if you use the key so I can remove it. If no one uses it, I'll give it to someone on the FE forums.

I dunno, the ad right here is telling me to get Dungeons and Dragons Online >_> I would maybe get that game, but two things

-They did officially release it in Canada. That makes me kinda angry.
-The trees prevent me from getting high speed. Still stuck with dial-up... stupid trees...

Wait. You want satellite over dial-up for gaming? Speed isn't everything, but I suppose if you're dial-up has reliability rating of -2 it might be worth it.

Lost in the dark scary part of my mind

Hmm. Not sure if I'd want to try it out....you know I'm more fantasy that post apocalyptic. I'll think about it.

Oh, and DDO is fun. Even has a freaking DM narrating in each dungeon. Though that get really freaking annoying after a time. The only thing I can find irritating about it is the whole going through five? ranks before you level. That, and the prices in this game so do not match prices in D&D. They're outrageous! ^^

That, and DDO is mainly instanced. Which some people might prefer, actually. I played it very briefly and it was somewhat fun, but for some reason I didn't continue playing...

Wouldn't dial-up pretty much kill the gaming experience? I mean... I remember having dial-up and I remember how it was for my friend: slow as hell.

Some screenshots of FE I took. Screenshots never do a game justice, in my opinion and these are not the highest settings. Sunset, interesting dino statue, and Vexenla, my level 11 character.

And btw, for the record... while it may not be in retail stores due to them being Indie and not having publishers or shelf space...

You can still buy it on Newegg.ca

and for your American folks out there interested in a box for cheap...

you can buy it from Newegg.com for $27

Dial-up may still be a valid problem though.

28.8 kb/s... is rather slow... maybe just a little. I have tried playing Halo online, the only game really that I have tried. I was limited to maybe a 4 person server until I got noticeable lag and it was too slow to host a server. While speed may not be everything, being able to actually play the game online is kinda important.

The alternatives we have right now are satellite and one of those mobile internet sticks. While they are faster they are way more money and have a limited bandwidth so it would be utterly useless for me. Our county is working on some broadband infrastructure but by the time its ready I'll probably be in college.

Hrm... 28.8kbs works out to be about 3 kilobytes a second. Interestingly enough WoW can be played on dial-up, and I believe was actually designed that way (very typical for Blizzard actually). EVE previously worked on dial-up, but with the way they go through new updates and micro-expansions...

And I don't trust public infrastructures much. Satellite might be the best choice for you though, unless you plan to travel a lot...

Might be the best choice if he, or his family, wants to spring for it that is. I'm sorry you have dial-up, Raptor. *gives a box of empathy*

Anyway, today was the Pub Crawl in Fallen Earth, in celebration of St. Patrick's day. 'Twas fun. They gave away free Green Beer in the pub, the event Leprechaun had trivia questions, and Game Masters showed up to give prizes. One GM was crawling around on the floor pretending to be a landshark. O.O He "nom'ed/chomped" my character's foot. And I lost a few chips/money playing the black jack machine...

The Macarena!
