Just out of curiousity: How good, or crappy is your computer (feel free to post specs)? Are you satisfied with it's specs? Was it worth the money? Are you planning on upgrading anything soon? I'll post mine after some people do. |

Dell Dimension E521 (wish I would have known more before I bought this) CPU: AMD Athlon x2 2.8ghz* RAM: 2.5gb DDR2* GFX: nVidia GeForce 9500GT 1gb* Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy something or the other (Kag gave it to me/installed it) HDD: 60gb... External HDD: 350gb, Toshiba 7200 RPM OS: Windows XP Media Center The stared items are upgrades I have installed (excluding the RAM, which Kag technically installed). Originally I had integrated graphics card, .5gb of RAM, integrated sound, and a single core crumby CPU. I am currently in the process of building my own PC, woot. It shall be awesome and gaming ready, especially after I upgrade the original CPU and GFX I'm putting in it for now. |

Custom Built Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 550 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.1GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Hard Drive: 1 TB Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4770 in Xfire Sound Card: None Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Motherboard: Gigabyte MA79OX-UD4P Computer Case: Antec 900 Originally had the same GPU Kag has now but my CPU kept screwing them up. It took the repair people a while to figure that out... 3 GPU's later... and by that point I had made the switch to the new GPU's. Taking that into consideration it was a $1300 (canadian) build and I am happy with it. I still have issues with the power button... that thing pissed me off so much during the build. Its a personal thing not technological. |

Pretty good computers. I'd say an upgrade to DDR3 would be better for you, Nubi. 4gb atleast for gaming. |

Nubi's motherboard can't support DDR3. Snowraptor, it's CrossFireX Technology on the video cards. And your 512MB card(s) is GDDR5 and probably cost more than it'll be worth in about a year. Tis why I don't buy close to leading edge. Edited by Zanaras, Mar 10 2010, 11:43 AM.

My computer fails in every aspect. Which is why I'm building my own. I don't want to buy another manufactured rig, particularly not from Dell. ^.^ Future Specs Chassis: Rosewell Challenger Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-770TA-UD3 AMD w/USB 3.0 support * CPU: Phenom II x2 545 Callisto 3.0ghz (in the future, a quad core would be nice) RAM: A-Data 4GB DDR3 HDD: 750gb Western Digital black caviar * OS: Windows 7 home Premium 64-Bit PSU: 650w Corsair * * = Already bought And I'll be re-using my graphics and sound card for now, until I can afford to upgrade the graphics card. So, what might your PC specs be, JenSama? |

The processing speed is pretty sweet. The only thing I'll be updating is the OS (to Windows 7). |

My computer actually has built in 5.1 RealTek Audio, but the thing didn't work with Ventrilo for some reason. Kept crashing ventrilo whenever I sent or received... Since I bought the G35 though, I've disabled the onboard. |

The card was $260 (Let it be known all prices I list are in Canadian, I refuse to convert) and the new cards totaled the same. When I was picking out these parts price was a key factor. The 260GTX had good reviews and was in a decent price range so I got that card The replacements were replaced under warranty so no money for those. Money is tight in high school. I was lazy when I typed xfire instead of crossfire ok? I was even too lazy to type out my comp parts, Xfire did that for me. |

Uh....I know nothing really about computers besides the bare basics. >< This is our family's computer, and though my dad is a computer geek, a software engineer/graphics designer, and all the other odd bits he's picked up, I know we don't have anything near to what he wants. He routinely calls our computer a piece of crap. *sigh* AMD Athlon[tm] X2 Dual Core Processor BE-2350 2.09 GHz, 3.25 GB RAM Still runs XP. I dunno.....I just wanted to add my two cents. Or, on this topic, most likely thoughts that don't even add up to a halfpence. Oh, and we have an external hard drive with 1TB. Edited by Rinny, Mar 13 2010, 04:44 AM.

*shrug* It runs. He looked at the specs you all are running and laughed. He said the computer he's trying to build would put all of yours to shame. ^^ Since I've professed an interest in learning this stuff, he's giving me one of our old boxes to play around with, along with another box that just has spare parts. Figure I'll start with that, learn my way around and then work on my own.... |
