I was watching the Today Show this morning and they had this little special on "belly fat" and how it leads to all sorts of health risks. Essentially, the best way to prevent the "belly bulge" is to follow the 15 grams of sugar diet (for the whole day). 15 GRAMS! Is that humanly possible? I can understand cutting back on sugar. Avoiding soda and sugary juices and sweets and packaged food that is jacked up with sugar. But, the 15 gram of sugar diet is saying fruit and yogurt for breakfast is too much sugar. Chicken with a little sauce is too much sugar (yet somehow chicken and pasta (aka STARCH) is not too much sugar). If you look at the sugars in most of your food you'll find one serving is usually over 15 grams of sugar, regardless of what it is. A single serving of Activia yogurt is 18 grams. It seems to be health these days we can't eat 2/3rds of the foods, including fruits, available to us. At least that is what health experts are saying. *rolls eyes* IMO, the best way to eat healthy is to eat what you need, when you need it, and in moderation. [/annoyed rant] |

Maybe they mean in addition to other foods? I think it is possible. Just eat a lot of fruit, veg and meat that are organic. I mean I'm sure they can't mean sugar that is in healthy foods already. Cuz I'm sure that even salad has more than 15g of sugar. |

I eat tonsloads of sugar, and I don't get fat. Call it metabolism, or high sex drive, but it's working for me! |

No Setoshin. 15 grams of sugar, only, all day. NO OTHER FOOD! I wish I could find the video of the absurd segment. Here's some diet ideas they showed: BREAKFAST Bad A banana and yogurt. Good A veggie omelet LUNCH Bad I forget what the bad example was... Good Grilled Cheese with Pickles DINNER Bad (Heathily prepared) Chicken with BBQ sauce Good Chicken and Pasta (wtf, Pasta is loaded with starch, which certainly turns into Sugar) See that? FRUIT IS BAD! |

Oh, and PW, that's how I am. Minus the sex drive part. I tend to eat whatever what, whenever I want, consume cans of soda, and do minimal physical activity and still manage to stay an average weight or less. |

I have no nothing... personally I blame gravity. Rather than let me be tall and skinny it made me short and fat. I'm not overweight at least. I also blame vegetables. Maybe if they tasted better I would actually bother to eat them. In a few days they will say you need more than 15g of sugar for a healthy lifestyle. Everything gives you cancer, its a proven fact. Another neat bit, scientists have made artificial meat. It will be another few years before it is sausage grade meat. They did it with stem cells. Stem cells are also being used fore breast implants now. Still no cure for cancer though... >_> |

I'm getting bigger and bigger as the months go by. Thankfully, I can take it all off again come July. I don't think I could handle this fifteen grams shit. I have to have a cup of tea with sugar (because I hate black tea and that's all we have) every morning or I'm puking my guts up. *sigh* Sugar and...tabasco have become my two big food groups. I put them on pretty much everything. But other than the freaking parasite eating me, I have a high motabolism too. |

Don't call your baby a parasite! You sound like Dr. House. XD And you also made a rhyme. Anyway, I think I will avoid artificial meat at all costs. I don't particular want to eat something derived from steam cells. :/ |
