Let's write a story. You know, I've always wanted to write a book and stuff, but never managed to do it because I get bored - Instead, let's all write a book together. Here's the basic set...

Quote:

Middle Age. There's swords, armours, knights, horses. There's also magic, and strange beings. No dragons though, that's too cliché.
There's a king and a queen, a royal guard, and epic battles, conquers, betrayals. There's outland guys, mages, soldiers, regular people, but no other races (no orcs or stuffs).

Now, give me ideas for the story, things that might have happened, develop it as you like. Tell me what you'd do with this! :3

I volunteer for the position of the evil warlock villain. My base should be somewhere high in some mountain range. My main form of magic should be based off of ice and cold. My characters name should be Raub Grendath, if you have any other name ideas use them I dun care. Most people know of me as "The Forgotten One". Ok, origin story and motive.

I grew up in a powerful northern country. When I discovered I had some magical talents I knew I had to nurture my gift lest I lose it. Sadly, the town I grew up in was one of many that were opposed to the practice of magic and when I was discovered they banished me and threw me into the frozen wastes to die. I was on the verge of death when a strange being came to me. It looked vaguely reptilian but spoke with a clear, powerful voice. It called itself Snowraptor. It brought me back from the verge of death and taught me the ways of magic. Throughout my time with the being, whom I discovered was from an ancient people known as the Scrathos (strange being category, not a new race) who held a globe spanning empire in a frozen Earth. When the humans came along they were treated as a curiosity but when they discovered the control of fire and began claiming the frozen Earth as theirs. On the verge of extinction they froze themselves waiting for their chance to return and lay reclaim what was theirs. Snowraptor was part of a dwindling people who thaw one Scrathos to watch over their frozen people and to await the coming of their savior who will restore their once great people. Raub grew to believe wholly in this cause and believed he was to be the savior. Snowraptor, having realized this when he found Raub nurtured Raub for his role as savior when Raub realized it was well. Raub grew to be a powerful warlock, surpassing even his master in a short time. Snowraptor followed Raub as he began his conquest of humanity and rise to power acting as his advisor and friend.

So there's a plot idea. Your thoughts?

Personally I would add aliens... course thats just me...

Excelent. If you want to, you can build up more characters before we relate them all (including King and king's guard, etc). Here's mine:

Joshua, a simple plebeian. A tall man, rough expressions, black hair, fuzzy eyebrows, full black beard. Large body with some muscle, mainly on the arms, from working on the field. When he was 13, he lost his parents because they were considered criminals by the King and got lynched on public square.
He had one older sister (17) and two younger ones (7, 11). Being the only male, he compulsively felt like he had to protect his sisters. He worked on the fields to get them food, cut wood to keep them warm, take care of the animals, and help mantain the house. However, his two younger sisters died before even reached the age of 13, and his older sister got married, leaving him alone.
Depressed, he started drinking in public bars and getting into fights. One day, he got into a fight with a soldier, and eventually, other soldiers came to help their mate. It ended up in Joshua killing seven of them with an axe, and having to run away, becomming an outlaw and an enemy of the King.
After leaving the King's lands, Joshua travelled to the mountains, where the soldiers couldn't chase him as easily. It was then that he found a city in the mountains - What he had thought to be a rumour was actually real. A city of outlaws, bandits, criminals, enemies of the King, gathered under the control of one person. He joined those mercenaries, to get his revenge on the King.

(We should probably limit the ammount of factions. There's the King with his soldiers and the good mages, then these outlaws and mercenaries who are bad, and the bad mages who Raub will most likely lead, or something like that. We'll think of alliances later.)

This haven city you describe could be the base of Raub's operation. He raised it up from a collection of lowlifes and scum barely scrounging out a living. Under his and Snowraptor's guidance the group flourished and word of this spread to others. Soon, the whole city became a sort of communist society of those seeking to avoid the rule of the King or make a name for themselves. A haven for practitioners of darker magic. The whole set up would be so conventient. A city of humans secretly dedicated to bringing down the rule of humanity, weakening it from the inside. The irony is wonderful.

Let see... new character..

Tashek Bear-Thief
Tashek grew up with a woodland tribe of nature worshippers though she was not born into their tribe. Her parents, the lowlifes they were abandoned her in the woods in a drunken stupor one day. She was always treated as an outcast by the other children so she always tried to surpass them at everything they did, trying to prove she was just as fit to be on their tribe as they were. This had the opposite effect though and they grew to resent her even more. When the coming of age ceremony came about Tashek planned to do the impossible to prove her worth as a full member of the tribe. A bear had been attacking hunters and being the nature worshippers they were refused to kill a creature that believed humans were worthy of being food. Tashek sytole the bears cub and poisoned some berries that were growing near the bears cave. The last part she did not reveal. When she returned with the cub explaining how she believed it could be taught to help humans, not eat them. She was instantly exiled. She was escorted out of the woods and was told that if she ever returned she would become food to them. She wandered for days not sure how she would make it outside the woods. A traveling circus came around and she was welcomed as an acrobat. This life was confusing to her and she longed for a the simplicity of the hunt. She found her means when she discovered stealing. Tashek embarked on her new life of crime, and was never caught for 4 years. In her 4th year she surrounded by guards and cornered when a freak wind came in and tore the guards to shreds. A map fell from the sky with Haven marked as its destination. She has served Raub's city ever since.
