Avatar was probably the best movie I've seen in a long time. There's a lot of those retarded-funny comedies coming out lately, on occasional decent action film, a few good dramas and chick-flicks, but I haven't seen a truly good (non-animated) film in a long time. I think UP was the last good movie I saw.

Avatar had a little bit of everything in it. There was some humor, a nice amount of action, and a little romance. But there wasn't a sickening amount of one thing, in my opinion. The storyline didn't seem forced or senseless, in fact it made a lot of sense when you think about humans and how we act.

What really made the movie great, in my opinion, was the visuals. Everything was so alive, brilliant, and creative. It drew me in and I ALMOST believed a place like Pandora could be real. I kind of wish it were.

I wasn't left asking "why?" or "how?" as some poorly written stories might have. Everything was well explained, and the technical stuff that wasn't I was satisfied to leave up to my imagination (such as how the human could be linked to the Avatar.)

Nothing appeared to be half-assed. I'm not much of a special effects critic. However, the Na'vi people, the creatures and monsters, the 'horses' and flying animals, and the plant-life were all clearly depicted. Nothing was hidden or only half shown. It was beautiful.

I really loved this movie and enjoyed it and I recommend it.

I was gonna see it some time. But I decided to go clubbing, so I missed out. But I'll probably wait for it to come out on TV. Can't be arsed to go see it.

You can watch it online here: Avatar You'll just have to find which is the best or better quality. I found one within a couple tries that was easily enjoyable quality.

I like your "but I haven't seen a truly good (non-animated) film in a long time." comment Nubi. Do you know how much of Avatar was pure CGI?

Fair point. But I guess I meant... non-Disney/Pixar/Anime film.

But I thought this was hilarious:
