I'm cold and falling right now :D

Since there doesn't seem to a topic on here about this I figured I'd make the topic.

Sony: Motion Controller

Microsoft: Project Natal

I'm not sure about the videos i just grabbed the links. Nintendo doesn't deserve to get a link here, they put up... get ready for this... a device that can measure a persons pulse :loony: epic eh? That definitely takes the cake over everything else I mean the Wii is so intense we need a device to measure our pulse as we play >_>

I think what Sony put up was the best thing. It delivered in the tech demo what i expected out of the wii, a game where you control a sword and shield with motion controls that isn't limited to random shakes limited to vertical or horizontal or maybe some stabbing if we're gettin creative. Elder Scrolls 6 with motion control anyone? (5 is being planned for release at about the same time as the PS3 last i checked)

The Natal will fail. It will either glitch like hell or will be so hard to work with it will get no 3rd party support. I honestly predict the Natal will bring the fall of Microsoft in the console wars. Unfortunately it will be held aloft by fanboys/girls and non-gamers who thought the wii was the single greatest thing to ever hit a tv since Treehouse and color!

I don't think it'll be the downfall. Sure, it'll have it's crappy, gimmicky games, but I think they have the ability to do something awesome with it.

Besides, they can look over at nintendo and learn from their mistakes.

While america seems to suddenly be overrun by 8 years olds whose parents buy them whatever casual crap they want, despite the depression, Japan really is a casual gamer market. They like the cute gimmicky stuff they can put down just as easily as they can pick up and play. Just look at hello kitty for f*&^'s sake!! [/mini rant]

Microsoft looked at the wii's failure all right, provided making billions is a mistake...

I've been predicting Microsofts failure for a while now, after the next gen of consoles, but it appears that they were more than ready to add a catalyst. Sure they might make the odd good game, even the wii has that I haven't played many wii games but I have played brawl which was a good game... provided I used a GC controller... so I guess it doesn't count

Dat pink cat has a very good point, wannabe gamers need to die in a hole of rotting apples, bunnies, and feces (better known as lawyers)! At least thats the message I got ^_^

I bought Brawl and Animal Crossing: CF. That was it. I still haven't gotten a chance to play AC.

Everything else they're coming out with.... let's not get me started okay?

Only things nintendo I'm looking forward to:

1. GSDS
2. Megaman Starforce 3
3. Metroid: Other M

While PW's link was highly amusing I must say: there is no such thing as a wanna be gamer. There are different genres and styles of games, movies, tv series, etc... for a reason. Everyone is different. Not everyone likes hardcore shoot 'em up, classic mario, the ultimate strategy adventure and so on and so forth. Some people like simple, easy, or quick games they can fit into their schedule or play with their young child. If you like the more advanced, "I'm the Ultimate Gamer!" game then great. But a wanna be gamer? Please.

On another note, I'm excited for the next Wii Zelda title. I must admit, I'm not 100% pleased with the Wii due to the lack of titles I'm interested in. I'd go for a PS3, even a 360. However, the Motion Plus might bring more opportunities to the table for Wii.

Yes, and those gamers clearly outnumber the real gamers and every day, big console game-making companies focus their attention more on this crowd because, rather than being true gamers that enjoy the experience (like us), they're more and give more money.

Basicly, they're ditching the real crowd that made them popular (the REAL gamers) by a crowd that'll give them more money because of the pure fact that they're more. How many good games are there for the PSP? Seriously, I've played about 100 different PSP games and finished them all, and none took over 2 days, whereas the same games for the PS2 would take atleast one week to finish. Sure, these companies are thinking about people that need short gaming experiences - What about us? What about real gamers that do this for a living? What about people that need five hours a day of gaming and still can't get enough of it? I've finished every Crash Bandicoot PSP game in less than one *ing day, and my older sister needs a month to finish one!

It is disrespectful and unloyal from these companies to ditch us for money, when we are the ones that actually made them famous. FU'CK WANNABE GAMERS, WE WANT REAL GAMES NOW!

I'm all for people who will do the whole quick game thing, I just hate it when they deem those games grounds enough to call themselves gamers. But calling anything more than that the kind of game that makes it ok to scream "I'm the Ultimate Gamer" is plain stupid. Being able to beat every Hard mission on an Armored Core game with an S rank would be grounds for that (which is rly hard if you don't know what you're doing i still have to beat all the normal missions on Armored Core: For Answer most of which are missing an S rank to begin with), beating the Halo 3 campaign on legendary is nothing compared to that.

I've set up a standard, I expect at least 20 hours of gameplay without multi player. But when I stack that next to all the hours I put into my pokemon games or Oblivion or Mass Effect (the developer of which is about an hour away from me :P )I have had some very good 20 hr games, Too Human and Overlord 2 for example which are both multi platform releases.

I looked at a trailer for that metroid game, it seemed like ninja gaiden with samus in place of Ryu. I'm not sure how they could set up a good wii control scheme... think it might have something to do with the fact that both games will have the same developer...
