Heroes don't need super powers! Short story even shorter, I bought a game programming book that came with a 30 day trial of BlitzMax. It is a BASIC programming... program. I didn't get around to finishing the book before my trial ended. I've tried other BASIC programs, haven't found what I'm looking for. Does anyone know how can semi-safely trick my registry into thinking I never install the trial? (Is that possible?) Or maybe someone with resources knows how can I get another trial, or a perma program, or something free that is similiar to BlitzMax? |

Semi-safely trick the registry so it thinks you have a longer trial remaining than you do? Hrm... Depending on how the program is setup that might not even work. However, could always try System Restore. That worked once for me, unintentionally, with a McAfee trial. If you want something similar, try googling it. No gaurantees it'll work the same, since the book might be designed to go with that particular program best. |
![]() My Blog: Thoughts of Randomness So, like usual, I try to change this every so often. I don't know if anyone notices, but I do it anyways. I hate studying. Have I mentioned this? Anyways, I do. It bites. In other news, It all began with Brownies. And then sped up a little bit. Not quite to phone numbers yet though, But that might change. I hope it does. Fun Quote! If you want to screw up any number of programs on your computer, feel free to delete the system registry. I personally wouldn't recommend it. |

Not the system registry, the registry file. You know, the registry file that's created when you install the program. Delete that and everything is hunky dory. |

Assuming the program uses it's own registry file anyways. Some programmers are getting smart.... I'm gonna shutup now before Nubi starts writing this down. |

Everything you install creates it's own registry file. Everything, well on windows anyway, on Mac they do something else. Anyway, the registry file is there to let your computer know what it is, where it is and basically all that fun little information it needs to run, some programs don't need a registry file to actually run, and those are the fun ones, but ones that put a trial time do, they need the registry file to run. |
