Lost in the dark scary part of my mind

It has been eight years since that fateful day when Azarus vanished and was presumed dead. The world hadn’t changed much, though the existence of other Immortals became apparent. There were others as well; humans who had the abilities of an Immortal, but aged. Such as Lerato. As it was with all creature of the human persuasion, they chose to be good or evil. Parts of the planet were terrorized by these super beings, which some called godlings. But others helped the communities that surrounded them, using their wide variety of powers to nurture the other humans. Those people retained their humanity; the others had grand belief that they were above human laws and boundaries. In short, the world had attained a precocious balance. But one small thing could push it over the edge into chaos. The Genesis family, without the Leadership of Azarus, had fallen apart. Drake, Linnea and Lerato remained at the ARINA station these eight years, Linnea to finish her treatments and to provide a safe environment for Lerato to be raised in, and Drake because he felt hat he should protect his younger sister and her adopted son. Both Muse and Abyss had vanished; no one had seen them in these eight years. They were both feared dead. But, slowly, the power hungry humans, in an attempt to gain the powers of the Immortals, are seeking out the old facilities and trying to recreate the process. Okay, so repost your char sheet, with any changes from the past eight years. Muse WILL be rejioning the group. Abyss will not; at least until Nubi can pick him back up. As was stated, any one can join this one. Good or bad. So, yeah. I'll stick up my char sheet now, so I'm not doing it later. ^^ Subject name: Insivium Chosen name: Muse Ability: Telepathy Appearance: Medium length black hair with long bangs that fall over her silver eyes. Slender, about 5' 7". Generally wears a pair of black pants, converse, and a grey tank top covered by a black jacket when it's cold. She had a small burn scar on her left cheek. Personality: Muse has become very quiet and thoughtful. She doesn't use her powers at all unless she needs to protect herself or innocents. She has extremely high mental walls to keep her thoughts in and others thoughts out. She rarely smiles anymore, but if she does it's a brilliant one. She's very protective of Rowena. Name: Rowena Age: 4 Ability: She can temporarily borrow another person's powers. It does not take the powers from the original person, o cause harm. She has to touch them to do this. The power wears off anywhere from two hours to two days, depending of the ability. Appearance: Black hair that falls in a curly mass to mid-back and bright green eyes. Her skin is like coffee with cream. She's dainty 2' 6". (yes, that's normal. I checked) She wears a cream cloth pants an a hunter green shirt with sneakers. Has a dimple in one cheek. Personality: Shy at first, almost painfully so. She's very close to Muse and hardly ever leaves her side. Once she knows you, she's very friendly and cheerful. She doesn't generally touch people, because if they have a gift, she doesn't want it. She does hold Muse's hand a lot and they have telepathic conversations. ------------------------- Muse stared down at the facility before her. It was lare, and looked almost like a fortress. Regular humans protrolled the gate, keeping a wary eyes on their surroundings. But they didn't see Muse, or the small girl that hid half behind Muse. Rowena's large green eyes watched the facility as well, an eerie knowing lighting the four years old's face. Tugging at Muse's hand, Rowena said :We need to go. They're bad men. We need to go!: Muse glanced at the young girl but didn't move. :I know precious,: she responded soothingly. :But I have to make sure of their plans. If that messenger was wrong... Muse let that thought slip away unuttered, not wanting to put a strain on the child. Rowena caught it anyway. :We're leaving?: she thought incredulously. Her little head couldn't seem to wrap around it and tears welled in her pretty eyes. "But we've just gotten settled," Rowena whispered aloud. "I made friends." Muse pressed her lips together tightly and knelt before Rowena, placing a hand on her cheek. "Little one, don't you want to see your real family? There's a boy there you could play with. His name is Lerato. He should be about eight now." Then Muse frowned, thinking back to Lerato's appearance the day she'd left. He'd been standing. Maybe her wasn't physically and eight year old. She pushed away that thought as well and scooped Rowena into her arms and started back down the hill leading away from the mini fortress. She had her information. The humans were gathering the reseach from SARI facilities and compiling them in an efffort to recreate the Immortals. It was time for Muse to go home. |

Alex looked off into the distance from the captains chair of the Verusia. It was one of the newest ships commissioned by the Terran Federation, or atleast one of the newest designs anyways. It was actually built at Arina. Arina, was of course the home of the Genesis family, and a good part of the Aegis family of which Alex was a part of. Arina, or ARINA, stood for Advanced Research Institute of North America, one of the Pre-Second Dawn organizations that still had remaining assets in what had come to be known as the Second Dawn Era, or the Age of Rebuilding. Alexander Retrius was a man that definently did not look his age. He was one of the people referred to as "Immortals", and at this particular moment, on a mission to find the various members of the Genesis family. The Terran Federation, the most advanced society on the planet, had sent him out to find those capable of routing out the various cancers that had started to grow after the Tarsis Incident. It had been eight years since that fateful day, and people had finally gotten somewhat used to Azarus being gone. The ruling council of the Terran Federation had a statue of him erected outside the government building in New Terra, their capital city. With Azarus's absence, the Council of Magistrates--the ruling council of the Terran Federation, a series of people elected yearly to oversee the running of the federation--appointed him to be in charge of the Arina Facility, more because they knew that he'd be welcomed there over someone who had next to no connections. He had since taken over where Azarus left off as far as Linnea's treatments went. Those treatments had been completed years ago, and Linnea had since gotten fairly good at her abilities, still not quite Azarus's level--though admittedly very, very close--but at the rate she was going that wouldn't take much longer. In another year-or-so Alex wasn't certain his mental blocks would work against her anymore. Her memories were another thing altogether though, and were a bit slower in returning. From what Alex had read of Azarus's notes, that was probably from her memory-loss having been self-induced at one point, meaning that her memories wouldn't return until her sub-concious felt it was absolutely necessary.... or so Azarus had figured. It was hard not to tell her everything he knew, but he felt it'd be better if she remembered on her own. Approaching destination, Sir! The Verusia's navigator spoke, jolting Alex back to reality. Ten minutes (or so) later.... Alex stood on the desert sands, his military-issue navy blue trenchcoat-esque officer's uniform being held in place against the light breeze by a black belt around his waist; the Verusia hovering a couple hundred feet in the air behind him and a smaller helicopter sized craft on the ground a few feet away from him, the whir of it's thrusters being drowned out by the hum of the Verusia overhead. Alex was thankful that the anti-grav generators of the Federation airships didn't generate the windstorms that some of the less advanced Feudal airships did. A few hundred feet in the distance he watched a couple forms walk across the crest of one of the dunes, one Alex knew was Muse based on what Azarus had taught him on tracking the Genesis members. The other was one he didn't know about, judging by the size though it was a child. OoC: The "Feudals" are what the Federation has come to call the various Lords that inhabit the various platforms that float across the skies, the name of course coming from their tendency to feud with each other. And yes I'll be in the RP for the next couple weeks, after which my character will be a NPC until either this RP ends or I get computer access again, whichever comes first. |

Muse froze, setting Rowena down and placing the child behind her protectively. In the distance a ship could be seen. Even from the distance, Muse could tell it was a newer craft; the sand around it remained as calm as it ever was. She could see figures decending from the ship and a craft about the size of a helicopter breaking off from the main ship. Feeling Rowena's mixed fear and curiousity about the vessel, Muse stooped and half turned to look at her. :We don't know who these people are,: she cautioned Rowena, tucking a strand of hair behind the girl's ear. Rowena nodded, but the curiousity burning in her stayed. The young girl was very mature for her age. With having telepathy almost constantly because of her colseness to Muse, Rowena had come to understand a great deal of things in a short time. Rowena could read and write; she could talk perfectly and hold a conversation. Truthfully, Muse found it alarming sometimes. Especially when the girl slipped under her shields. With an internal shudder and the highest walls she had, Muse stood from her crouch and opened one slender doorway in her mind, questing out to see if these men were harmful to her or Rowena. What she found shocked her. Slamming her walls back into place as quick as she could, she stared into the distance as if she could see Major Alexander Retrius staring back at her. She hadn't been able to breach his mind, but the crew members were loud with their thoughts. Glancing back at Rowena she said aloud, "Well, dearest, i looks like we won't be needing money. A ride has arrived." Muse took Rowena up into her arms once more and set off towards the ship. At least she could tell Alex about the fortress. |

Muse, it's been a while. Alex greeted the member of the Genesis family, and then kneeled down to be closer to the height of the child with her. And I see you brought a friend. Alex said smiling. My names Alexander Retrius, He said with his thoughts, trying to be as friendly as possible, as he got a better look at the child. But you can call me Alex for short, alright Miss Rowena? He finished, using his own telepathic ability to get one of the most commonly thought things--one's name. Language was another. For some telepaths, the language of the mind was universal. Of course for some, it wasn't. Even those with the same abilities could apply them in wildly different ways with even wilder results. Alex wasn't one who could understand the universal language of the mind, but he was good at hiding the secrets of his own mind, a trait that was becoming more and more valuable.... Thankfully, there were still very few telepaths across the world. Another thing he could do, that made this meeting possible, was track people he'd met. A thing Azarus had taught him many, many years ago; it was also a lot more complex than it sounded. Anyways, Muse, the Federation sent me to find you. They've a job they believe you're uniquely suited for. For now though, weather reports indicate a sandstorm will be blowing in shortly, and I've a feeling you could do with some rest. To the Verusia? He stated, motioning to the airship behind him. Edited by Zanaras, Oct 31 2008, 05:12 AM.

Muse heard Alex through the echo of Rowena's thoughts and found that the young one was thrilled that someone else could talk to her mind to mind. :Hi!: Rowena thought to Alex, forgetting all shyness at this new thing. :Nice to meet you Alex. You can call me Ro. My dady used to before we went away.: A surge of sadness pushed at Muse and presumably Alex, and Muse stroked Rowena's hair comfortingly. "Let's go sweetie," she murmured, taking Rowena's hand and leading her up the ramp into the airship. Not wanted to feel alienated, Muuse did something she normally frowned upon and she was careful to keep her actions from Rowena; Muse opened that door again and located the conference room from the crew's minds. Then, Rowena at her side, Muse made a beeline for it, opening the door and stepping inside. Setting Rowena on the table, Muse faced Alex. "There's a human settlement over that dune," she said, not bothering with any pleasantries. "They're been gathering SARI reseach, and they've managed to create a small fortress. They're trying to recreate what they call the Immortals. Us." She included Rowena in her gesture and the girl smiled widely. Muse continued, "They need to be stopped." Rowena nodded, eyes growing serious. "Mommy's right. They're bad men." |

Hahaha, Alex chuckled at how gung ho they were, The Federation has known about them for about six years now. If we wanted to wipe them out we could bombard them with the Australia's guns from orbit. But they have plans for them yet. Alex brought up a hologram from a projector in the center of the table in the conference room. A series of people appeared in the air. These are the higher echelons of their command structure. As you might notice, one of these doesn't fit with the rest. Alex mentioned as the projector focused in on just one, dressed in almost medieval clothing. Lord Coralev. One of the strongest of the Feudal Lords. He's also an Immortal, and much harder to find than the rest. Most of what they have compiled is stored with him, wherever he is. I'll go over the rest of the details with the rest of the team you'll be meeting when we arrive at Arina. Normally, Alex probably would've explained it, but he wanted to save himself some trouble. Easier to answer one question once, rather than many times. And at this particular moment, he thought it would be fun to deny Muse of what he knew. Something not many were capable of doing to his understanding. If you want to learn about anything else though, feel free to ask. Of course, if you'd prefer to get some sleep, I've had a room made available. Alex was certain that after eight years, she'd have some questions, but he extended to offer of rest anyways. |

Muse glanced over the hollogram in silence, not impressed. She didn't much care for the Federation if they weren't doing anythinga bout it. She'd seen what happened in there. She'd seen the Immortals that had been captured. Muse had been watching this facility for a while now, and that the Federation 'still had plans for them' angered her. But none of that showed on her smooth face. The other thing that irked her was Alex's reluctance to give information. She wasn't angry enough to attack his mind, so she let it go, but it felt like a fire was burning in her gut. "I have a question," Rowena said, speaking aloud for te first time. Her voice was sweet and musical, reminiscent of chimes. Muse smiled at her daughter's forwardness. "What's the job for mommy? You said she was 'uniquely suited' for it. What is it?" Muse's eyes widened as she took that in. She hadn't given it another thought, but Rowena had always been perceptive like that. "Yeah Alex," Muse said, lifting one eyebrow. "What is it?" |

Well, since that's all you're interested in, I guess I'll spill the beans. Alex said, his good mood showing through, regardless of his not wanting to share all the details just yet. The Federation has spent the last few years gathering all the facts on this group, everything from safehouses to research data. Most of it is kept under heavy guard, so they haven't been able to get much in the way of usable details. They do know that the group wasn't just working on creating Immortals, they were working on creating something more... The spies they had in the group weren't sure exactly what. Alex paused momentairly before continuing. The Federation wants to know exactly what they were creating before they bomb the place. The spies we have inside have arranged for a group to go inside to "help" with the research. From what our informants have sent us, the facility beneath that settlement is comparable in size to Arina. Your job, Muse, will be to lead this group, using your abilities as a Telepath, in conjuction with Linnea's--if she agrees--to find out what they were working on, retrieve any data they've managed to collect, and to escape. The group will have three days from the drop-off time to get in, get the data, and get out. After that the Federation has scheduled the extermination off all things connected to that group, including all assets of Lord Coralev, whether your out of the facility or not. Oh, and Lord Coralev, hope you don't encounter him. From Azarus's reports on the Aegis members, the only thing that Azarus spoke highly of about Coralev was his abilities... Not only can he control ice, he can also render the abilities of others inert. Rumors we've heard through our informants also state he's experimenting with cybernetics and nanotechnology. You'll get the rest of the details when we arrive at Arina. Now, can I tell the Council that they have your support in this matter, Muse? Edited by Zanaras, Oct 31 2008, 07:21 AM.

Muse stared at Alex for a long time, mind numb with shock. Rowena kept probing at her, asking what was wrong, but all Muse could think was - "You want me to take Azarus' place?" she blurted out, eyes wide. "But...wouldn't Linnea...or Drake? Even Abyss if you know where he is. I'm not a leader. Jesus, everything I try to do I screw up. I managed to gain control of telepathy and all of it's facets, but in the process I wiped out an entire village! I had a real relationship and an Immortal, seeking revenge for the village I destroyed, killed him!" She started to continue, but stopped, acutely aware that Rowena was watching her. "The only thing I've managed to do right is raise Rowena. I won't leave her alone Alex. And she's too young to go galavanting off into harms way." "No I'm not," Rowena chimed in, staring at her mother. "I'm almost as powerful as you mommy. I'll be okay." Muse's eyes closed as she tried to block out the awful images of her daughter dying or being tortured. She heard a low whimper and knew that she hadn't blocked hard enough. Opening her eyes, Muse hugged her daughter, holding her close and stroking her hair. "Damn it Alex," Muse said, staring at him over Rowena's head. The girl wasn't crying; she never cried. But the images she'd seen in her mother's head had scared her. "If I could leave her with someone I trust, it wouldn't be a problem. But I'm assuming everyone I trust will be going with me." Rowena looked up from where she'd buried her face in Muse's shoulder. "I'm going," she insisted, her small voice gaining an amzing depth. "If you try to leave me, I'll follow you. You know I can." Mother and daughter stared at each other for a few moments, completely ignoring Alex. Finally Muse sighed. "Fine. But you stay with me at all times. Once we get to ARINA, I'll tell you who I trust you to be with. Okay?" Solomnly, Rowena nodded and Muse glanced over at Alex. "Fine. I'll do it." |

Fine. I'll do it. Muse finally agreed, thankfully without much more being said from Alex. His job here was almost done. Just a couple more things that needed to be said. Muse, both myself and the Federation thank you. And it wasn't us who chose you as the best qualified to lead the group, it was Azarus. I don't think any of you realized just how much he cared about you. Of the group he chose you as the best able to take his place, both as the one to hold the family together, as well as the one to lead them into tomorrow. I can manage the Arina facility fine, but I don't know the Genesis group like you do. Have faith that he knows what he's doing, and most of all have faith in yourself. Alex probably could've chosen better wording for that last sentence, but what was said had been said. And he had a report to make. As the door from the conference room slid open though, he stopped. Oh yeah, Alex interjected, remembering something a friend he hadnt seen in a while had asked him to do. I believe this should go to you. He stated as he pulled an envelope out of one of the inner pockets of his coat. Judging by the envelope, it had been there a while. I was told to deliver it to him the next time we met up, but I don't think I'll see him again will I? He finished his words as he layed out the envelope, addressed to one "Carlos Antonio Ramirez", on the table. With that he left for his quarters on the ship, not going in to how he knew. Other than the fact there were actually another two envelopes insid that one, mostly becuse Alex had gotten tired of carrying around two envelopes, he only knew what one was about--that one being a letter from the Federation Council, now over a decade old, thanking him for his aid to their cause and rewarding him with a couple blank Federation Citizenships. Those were rare, especially for Immortals; that partially being Azarus's fault as he "didn't want those who could not die overly influence the future of humanity" or something like that. Other than Alex and Azarus, there were maybe a handfull of "Immortals" who held citizenships. |

Muse pressed her lips together to keep from laughing as Alex delivered his little speech. The last sentence almost pushed her over, and Rowena, hearing her mother's response, giggled a little. But all happy thoughts were driven away when Alex pulled out an envlope and placed it one the table. It was adressed to Carlos Anotonio Remirez; Muse's beau and Rowena's father. Both sets of eyes widened, staring at the envelope. They didn't even notice the door close behind Alex, or the silence that surrounded them. :Daddy?: Rowena murmured into Muse's mind, holding her mother's arm possessively. :Yes, it's for daddy. Do you want to open it? Muse asked, laying a kiss on the child's forehead. After a moment, Rowena nodded and Muse picking up the heavy envlope, tearing it open. Inside were two more envelopes; one was adressed to Carlos; the other, to Muse. Muse opened the one adrssed to her first. It was on newer paper than the other one; meaning they'd been given to Alex at two different times. Ignoring that little tidbit, Muse read th letter as Rowena cuddled into her lap. Dear Muse, If your're reading this, then you're back with the federation. Whether I am dead or you just left, it matters not. I know you did not love me, even though I lved you. I could tell your heart belonged to another when we first met but you dazzled me and I found that I just didn't care. I love you, and I love our daughter Rowena. As such, I've given the one thing that is most precious, besides my love: citizenship papers. When Alexander sought me out to give them to me, You had just had Rowena. I had him keep those papers, as well as this letter. All I have is yours Muse. It always will be. I hope to see you again. And if I'm dead, I'm watching over you and Rowena always. A teardrop fell onto the paper and Muse wiped it away hastily. Rowena was crying too, very gently. Not sure what to say, Muse just held her, sending soothing thoughts. Everything Carlos said about her was true of course; she hadn't loved him. They'd been nothing more than good friends. But loneliness reaches everyone and she'd found comfort in his arms. And she'd found Rowena as well. "Don't cry dearest," Muse whispered. "Don't cry. He's fine now. See? He said he's watching over us." Rowena leaned away, wiping it her tears with one fist. "You don't believe that," the girl said simply. After a moment, Muse let out a choked laugh. "No. No I don't," she admitted. "But let's not dwell on this. We've said our goodbyes to your father. Let's just accept his gift." Rowena nodded sadly and hopped to the floor. Muse stood and gathered the letter and envelopes, tucking them into her pocket. Then she took Rowena's hand and went off in seach of room and some rest. |

Several Hours Later... Alexander Retrius, report to the bridge please. Came the voice of the Verusia's navigator over the ships internal intercom. A minute later he arrived in time to look out the window and see the changes that had taken place in eight years. Though the Verusia's bridge was actually in the center of the ship, advances in technology allowed the command crew to see outside the ship as if the ship around them wasn't there, other than the walkway and the doorway that lead to it, you could see a view from the ship in almost any direction, and best of all the view had depth to it, meaning you could see things based on where you were on the bridge. And the view from Verusia of Arina was spectacular. One of Azarus's theories was based around the strange design of the facility, as if it was actually designed to be a space station, rather than a ground based facility. According to Federation scientists, he was right. From what they had concluded the entire facility was actually designed to be launched at some point, and after a number of repairs to get it up to standard, it was once again ready for launch, all they had to do was excavate all the dirt that had gotten in around it in ten thousand years. The town outside the facility was for the most part, safe from the excavation process, and work was being done in order to eventually lift the entire facility out of the ground; already a number of anti-grav generators could be seen floating above it, massive cables going from them back down to the facility itself. It was really quite a spectacle from this angle. Even with what little sand, dirt, and rock that had been moved out from around it, you could see the shape of the upper layers of the complex. According to calculations the work wouldn't be completed for another few decades at the least though, not if you took into account all the safety checks and the time it'd take to get it into orbit. The Verusia slowed to a soft landing in the town outside the facility itself though. With the work that was being done the regular landing area on the facility itself had been closed. Alex sent one of the crewmen on the ship to collect Muse while he went on ahead to "Conference Room A" inside Arina where the rest of the group was waiting. OoC: There you go guys, an easy place to enter the RP at. |

((wowie! a lot happened in a relatively short time...)) Subject name: Alucard Chosen name: Drake Ability: Vampirism Age: 26 (Although, of course, he still looks like a 18-year-old) Appearance: Very pale skin. Black hair cut into a semi-long length and then pulled into a ponytail. Piercing blue eyes. He wears rather simple attire that is designed to block as much sun as possible. He wears a short sleeve maroon shirt under a half-zipped black hoodie. As pants, he wears a pair of blue denim straight legged jeans. He has accumulated quite a bit of change since he was first awoken... One change being that he has quite a number of scars. The most notable ones are on his face... A diagonal scar going from right over his left eye to about three inches below his right, and a scar running across his left temple. He has gotten quite a bit more fit than he used to be, thanks mostly from the intense training he has been doing over the past 8 years. Before, he had been little more than a twig with speed... Now, he was quite a bit bigger, although still not "muscular" as some like to say. Another interesting side note, Drake has lost his left fang! A rather costly procedure was done to put a new tooth in its place, but human fangs weren't really in high supply... So, Drake has one fang on the right side of his mouth, and the other on a necklace which he always wears. He keeps a change of clothes in his dull blue backpack in case he needs it. Personality: Drake is the kind of person who hates showing his feelings. He feels like a pansy whenever he asks for help. He hates to let on that he likes people, so such formalities as politeness and apologies are lost for him. In fact, the only people he has known to give them to are Lerato and Linnea... People assume it is because they are both like him... but it is really because they are closer to him than anyone else has ever been... Just like the others. He prides himself as being always punctual. It isn't really fair for him to call himself that, because he can run a mile in a third of the human record and therefore can always make time for more BSing, but... ---------- Drake was doing some more training. Drake had found a room deep in the ARINA base that seemed to be a fitness center... So, Drake, always one to do such, decided to put it to work. He was contantly here, leaving only to check up on things in the base and eat... Drake had even brought a mattress and a dresser in here so that he wouldn't have to leave! He was currently on the hip sled. Basically, the hip sled is a machine where you lie down on your back at a 40 degree angle and push weight up the machine with your legs to a 50 degree angle (or something like that). Right now, he was pushing about 350 lbs. Thick beads of sweat rolled down Drake's brow as he counted off his reps. " One forty-eight... one forty-nine... ... one fif-tee!" He racked the weight and let out a deep breath. Grabbing a towel that was nearby, Drake wiped the sweat from his face and hair. He wobbled a bit as he stood up and started to walk to his next destination... The steam room. He had just finished off all the physical workouts for this session, and was going to take a break. He didn't even bother to take off his clothes before walking in, flicking open the heat stove in the corner without a second glance. He turned the heat all they way up and dumped a little bit of water onto the rocks. The sauna was amazing like this... at least to Drake... most people didn't like it this hot... In fact, the only person who even would tolerate this kind of heat was Vince, as close as a friend of Drake's as humanly possible, who liked to work out down here as well. Drake took off his shirt and let it fall to the ground as the air around him grew thick and warm. "Tha's good," he said, in a daze. -About an hour later- About an hour later, Drake was running to conference room A, a beer in each hand (because we all know how refreshing a good brewsky is after a nice hot sauna). He had just came up to one of the first rooms accessible from outside when he heard someone walk in. He reached the room about four seconds before when he needed to be there (meaning that his perfect dependable record was safe for another day). He ended up sitting there for over a half-hour, as the guest of honor hadn't arrived as of yet. He had long since downed the two beers and about four more. He was just barely starting to get buzzed (Drake wasn't what you would call a lightweight!). "Yeesh... Tardy is an understatement!" He didn't want to wait much longer... There was stuff to do and places to be! However, he promised himself he would stay and so... He ended up occupying himself by zipping and unzipping and zipping and unzipping and zipping and unzipping his hoodie. It wasn't amazingly fun, but it was something to do... |

Muse stared at the door to Conference Room A for a long time. Rowena, having not the limitations that Muse had placed on herself, had already informed her that a man named Drake was in the room, aparently extremely bored. Muse felt a chill creep up her spine and shivered, her free hand clenching in a fist. Taking a deep breath, she glanced down at her daughter. Rowena was watching the door as well, green eyes wide with curiousity. Muse heard her thoughts as clearly as if they were her own; there were no secrets between the two. :Why is mommy so worried about going in there? She wasn't until I told her who was in there. I don't understand.: Muse sighed, stooping down to Rowena's level. "This man, Drake. I've told you about him. He was one of the Genesis group. Remember?" Rowena nodded and Muse continued. "He and I...we were starting to become close when I left. I....I'm not sure how to explain this." "You feel for him like daddy felt for you," Rowena stated, tone matter of fact. Muse's eyes widened. "I...wouldn't go that far. I do have feelings for him, but we haven't seen each other in many years. I'm sure both of us have changed a lot." She thought back to the naive girl that she'd been then, one afraid of violence and unsure in her powers. A girl who'd let her temper get the better of her and emotions cloud her judgement. She was definitely not the same. As for Drake, she couldn't tell. She hadn't seen him, and she wouldn't go delvig into his mind to find out. So, taking another deep breath, Muse stood from her crouch and opened the door to the conference room, head held high and all her worries deeply hidden. OOC~ I feel weird about char control, so I'll wait until you get back Chrono. I think his reaction should be completely your own creation. I'm not sure if he even knows who the special guest is, so yeah. |

((Good idea... I hadn't thought of that... He doesn't even know Muse is coming back!)) Drake took a drink of the water that was set in front of his seat. It was still nice and cold. The familiar presence was still something that he couldn't quite place... However, the mystery was soon solved. It took a few moments to recognize her, but Drake could tell. It was Muse! He didn't know whether to play it aloof or to run up and greet her. Try to be formal or act like she's an old friend. He was so flustered that he almost forgot to put up his little shields. He ended up greeting Muse at the door. He almost rose his arm for a handshake, but he gave her a hug instead. He felt overwhelmed... He wasn't sure if he would ever see her again after Azarus left... |
