I was thinking of making an RP set in the Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass world of Legend of Zelda. I don't know what the plot would be yet exactly but the setting would include all the islands in those games. I doubt Link, Tetra or the main characters would be playable, or even in it but yeah. It would be cool. There's about... 6 or 7 different races you could be in this world since they added some in this world. |

the problem with basing an RP inside a world of a video game, TV show, movie, etc is that not everyone knows enough about the world to full participate in the RP. as such that is why (i assume) they banned making Rps based on pop culture (stuff like movies etc) on Cheat Planet Forums. Also it tends to cause some disputes about what should and shouldn't be allowed. |

They've a point... But you could improvise by creating a unique plot and have the setting described as the setting from those Zelda games. I know very little about those games, but if you describe the territory like you created it yourself... then it could work. As for using characters, NPC or not, from a game... I can't say there is too much wrong with that. It limits personality, and the NPC might be tricky to control in the desired way. And if they are just referred to by our characters... then that's easier. What could work, in my eyes, is describing the setting, having a unique plot that doesn't entirely follow the games, and create new characters in that world that we play as. But keep the main figures in tact, like Link and all those other people. Just explain their importance and position in the world. As if you were making this all up, so only you would know, thusly... you'd have to explain. However basing things entirely off games is not banned here, but it may or may not turn out well. *shrugs* Oh yeah! Welcome back. |

Yeah, that's why I was I'm not inluding those main characters. I don't know what the plot would be yet though. |

my advice, think of a plot before you try to make an Rp. it doesn't work out so well if you try it the other way around. |
