----------------------------------------------

This story is of a young boy, three mystical warriors and his quest to unite them and save the universe of every dimension from the ultimate evil. Zack’s world is about to be turned upside down and inside out in an action packed fantasy adventure which will take him to worlds that haven’t been touched in eons and he’ll see creatures that have not been discovered after he is blessed with the power of the guardian.

Beep, beep, beep. An alarm clock goes off several hours before everyone else’s. A young boy of about 15 climbs out of bed and turns it off. He quickly has some breakfast and a shower before getting dressed. He walks outside and locks the door behind him. He stands in the street. A young boy dressed in a crimson shirt, black pants and black skate shoes. His dark purple hair spiked forwards with gel resisting the push of the wind and his dark brown eyes looking up and down the street looking for his friend who he was suppose to meet this morning so they could watch the sunrise from the top of the small local mountain.

Now if you or I saw Zack standing there in the middle of the street by himself at four o’clock in the morning we would of probably think that he was up to no good but this is not who Zack is. He wouldn’t think of breaking the law or anything like that, he wouldn’t even get into a fight if he was really angry. Of course he would fight if he had no other choice or if it was to protect a loved one or a friend, but he would rather sit atop the mountain watching the sunrise or sunset while playing a beautiful song on his flute with his best friends, Rose who sang along to the music and Cliff who played his violin with him.

Suddenly Zack’s sharp eyes noticed a small movement over in the bushes on the other side of the street. He ran towards the bushes and crouched down behind them. Two dark scarlet eyes stared at him and moved closer as Rose went to hug him, the rags she wore almost falling off.

Rose was an orphan who lived in the streets and was almost raped one day by a drunk man but Zack walked in when the man tried to rape her and he immediately pulled his drunk step dad off away from her and told him to go home. Zack apologised for his father’s behaviour and explained that his father had just lost his wife in a car accident. Ever since then Zack and Rose have been best friends and always hang around each other. Sadly Zack’s step dad was hit by a bus on his way home later that week so Zack lives with his grand parents who, along with Zack, keep offering rose to live with them but she prefers her own tree house which Zack and his step dad had made in the forest for Rose as an apology present.

After prying Rose off him Zack stood up and started walking towards the mountain with Rose walking quickly to keep up with him. Every now and again Zack turned around to wait for Rose to catch up and each time he laughed as she tried to hold her rags up as she ran towards him.

After about an hour and a half they reached the top of the mountain and looked out over the small town and the sunrise. Rose sat down quietly and watched the beautiful sunrise. Zack pulled out his special flute which he was given by his karate master after Zack graduated as a black belt, and as the best in the town second to only his karate master.

Zack took a deep breath and then started to play a beautiful melody which floated down the mountain and over the town. Rose looked at Zack and began to sing a beautiful song of love and life and the beauty of the world around the town.

In the town everyone was waking up to the sound of Zack’s music and Rose’s song. Cliff walked outside and looked up at the mountain and smiled. Cliff was Zack’s best friend. Cliff was very much like Zack except he was more aggressive and muscular. Cliff grabbed his violin and ran towards the mountain and in no time he was on top of the mountain playing his violin along with Rose’s singing and Zack’s flute.

Zack looked down at the small town in which he lived and breathed in the fresh mountain air. He looked at Rose and Cliff; they had stopped just as Zack had. Something seemed different today but none of them could think of what it was, Zack looked over the town once again and by now the sun had risen to a nice point in the sky so the town was almost free of shadows.

“Come on guys lets go get some breakfast,” Zack grinned as he started to run back along the path, “race you”. Cliff and Rose, only just realising what he meant got up and chased after him.

“Oh come on you know I can’t run in these rags,” shouted Rose, stopping to pull up her rags as they had dropped to an almost embarrassing point. She started to walk and saw that Cliff had reached the town but Zack had turned around and started to come back up the hill. Sweat covered his face as he reached her.

“Ok then don’t run but you should really wear some of the clothes that my grandma keeps giving you,” Zack laughed as Rose almost dropped her rags but quickly picked them back up.

“I like my clothes thank you very much,” she chirped happily as she continued walking down the path.

“Don’t you mean your rags,” Zack joked as he walked along side her. She gave him a quick glare before starting to walk again.

When they reached the town they were greeted by Zack’s grandpa who led them over to the local café and brought the pair some cereal and toast for breakfast.
Zack’s grandpa owned the local café so he could buy anything he wanted for half price and Zack’s grandma owned the local supply shop, the town being in the middle of the country they didn’t have lots of shops or anything, just a supply shop, café, library, hairdressers and all the basic town buildings.

Hybrid town, as it was called, was the cosiest, quietest, calmest and friendliest town in the world according to the locals who live there. It is named after the large statue that is in the middle of the town, in front of the town hall. The statue is of an angel-demon hybrid which was already standing when the founder of the town first found the place, over 5 centuries ago. No one knows how the statue got there or why it was put there but it hasn’t changed in the last 5 centuries and experts claim that its always a brand new statue every time they visit but the locals claim that it has never aged because with in it lives the spirit of the towns guardian that appeared out of nowhere and save the original towns people who were attacked by a large monster. The legend says that a monster ravaged the world and that when it attacked the town the spirit of the statue transformed one boy into an angel-demon hybrid to destroy the monster and save the town, it also says that if the monster was to ever return that the ancestor of the boy the spirit first bonded with to save the town would bond with the spirit to save the world. Little did the townsfolk know was that the legend was about to come true.

Max came over from the counter with a picnic basket after Rose and Zack had finished their breakfast and Cliff had arrived.

“Hey kids, Lulu made you a food for a picnic lunch today. Oh and don’t forget to be here early for the festival,” he said as he gave them the basket and took away their dirty dishes.

“Thanks grandpa, tell grandma that we said thanks and don’t worry we will be here nice and early,” Zack said as the three teenagers stood up and headed towards the Dragon’s forest.

It was named so after the smoke that rose from deep with in it and from the all the small lizards that everyone says look like dragons. The most common one being the bearded water dragon which lives in the many creeks and rivers, which run off into the desert which runs along one side of the forest and the town. People also claim to have seen a dragon flying around above the forest; some say that there are multiple dragons living deep within the forest.

They reached Rose’s tree house in about 10 minutes and put the basket in the kitchen. The tree house had a primitive water system but no electric system so they pulled out a couple of torches as they climbed into the hollow trunk of the large tree. From the tree the trio had tunnels leading to the library, supply shop, the town hall and square and to the weapons shop just in case.

The friends needed to rehearse their part in tonight’s festival. They would be playing the towns song and they need to practice it some more before they played it tonight. The annual festival of the guardian was even more important to the townspeople than the festival that celebrates the founding of the town, even Rose promised to wear a dress that she had which was the only memory of her mother that she had left after their home burnt down with her parents trapped inside.

Meanwhile, deep within the earth, a giant creature stirred in its slumber. Its large black body shifted, its eye opened, a loud snort, and the creature looked at the hooded man standing in front of him. The man smirked and laughed, having finally awoken the beast before him.

“Arise great beast of darkness, arise and go crush the pitiful town that now rests atop your sleeping place”, the man cackled as he tapped his staff against the floor of the great cavern and then disappeared into the darkness. The creature looked up from where the man had been standing and its dark blue eyes saw the entrance to a large cave that was only a small distance from where the man had been standing just moments before.

Meanwhile up on the surface of the earth, in a small library, three friends were playing rehearsing the town song in peace. Zack finally put down his flute and looked at the clock on the wall. It was just past noon now and the trio were getting pretty hungry, so without even speaking the trio instantly got up and walked back to their secret entrance, instruments in hand. As they climbed out of the secret passage and back into the tree house trio noticed that a small piece of paper which was left on the table next to the picnic basket.
