Posts: 3,075 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: April 20, 2006 Gender Female	Role Playing Revival I've noticed the Role Playing forum has been nearly... dead. And I really love Role Playing. I remember the first place I started RPing and I can almost remember one of my first posts. So I really don't want to let our Role Playing forum go down in flames. So this is what I'm doing. I moved all the Role Plays, except for a few that still have a chance, to an Archives. It's the sub-forum to this Role Playing forum. Of course, I wouldn't want to delete any of the Role Plays for many reasons. Some people might be able to revive their old ones, others like to read Role Plays they were in, and some use them as reference or don't have them saved but want to put them somewhere else. So I just moved them, not deleting any Role Play. The reason I moved everything is so we can get a fresh start. No clutter, no old Role Plays everywhere... just plenty of space for new, long lasting Role Plays. I plan to get a couple Role Plays started to set us off. And I truly hope the Role Playing forum will come to life. I also hope to gain some new Role Playing members. So invite your friends!

Nvr managed to make a successful RP before. Not that I tried much but still >_> nor have I RPed in a long time either. Or even written anything remotely creative. Yes it is set in the future but we're not space soldiers fighting some space war. There are no psychic powers and there is limited technology. Most of it was destroyed in the crash. I could have made it some random people getting lost in the woods but then it gets closed off to new people too soon. Mine leaves it more open for any number of people to join at any point and for them to emerge in a truly isolated environment. The way you say it, it should either be boring or a fantasy. Its not my problem you do not like sci fi.

At least, not that I've seen. The best sets I've played or seen have been futuristic, sci-fi, pure fantasy, or modern fantasy. It dies otherwise. I'm out of ideas. I'm a writer, but I have issues setting up scenarios for multiple people to take part in. I guess I'm just boring and generic like that....But I enjoyed participating, and will do so again if something sparks my interest. Truthfully, I enjoyed the one Nubi and I had, as well as the one we did at school, but the first isn't really suited for mass play, and the second.....well, it suffered a long drawn-out death. It was already dying when I joined it....

If you had ever been in forums where a majority of the members don't like Star Wars, you'd probably have found some pretty coold RPs. That I recall, I've been in fantasy RP's with furries (which was pretty cool if you ask me), Yu-Gi-Oh, Pok�mon, Modern War RPs, and the best of them was actually a simple School RP. It's not really a matter of being "boring", that's pretty subjective. To me, sci-fi is VERY boring, and every RP that I've seen around here is the same, again and again, with a couple of different features.

Villain	A roleplay is only as good as the person who makes the world. I could create entire galaxies if I had the dedication to do so. Normally though, I don't. At the moment I've got about three galaxies, eight or nine races, various magics and technologies, and entire storylines that tie them all together, all floating about in the eternal abyss that is my creativity. Now, trying to make that into a RP is a pain in the ass. I mean sure, it can be done, but it's not easy. To make them into a RP or two, I'd have to figure out a certain subset of the storyline that's workable, determine how I want it all to play out, what factions are involved, and how it ties into everything else. I could probably create a fairly decent fantasy RP if I wanted to. I might actually. Vampires, Angelesque-beings, regular mortals, magic, flying cities, eternal wars, genocide, and even still have it tie into the storyline I've got. The only problem will be in figuring out how a small group of maybe five or six will be the lynch pin that ends a several hundred year semi-cold war that no one can remember what started. I'll get back to you once I figure this out and/or decide if Sneezy's RP is worthwhile.
	My Blog: Thoughts of Randomness So, like usual, I try to change this every so often. I don't know if anyone notices, but I do it anyways. So, I'm visiting that girl I mentioned. The one that graduates from basic tomorrow. I'll be there for it. I wonder if this qualifies as proving my worth? I hope it does. I'm invested most of my available funds into this already. But of course, the best part of any vacation, Is how you spend it. As long as I have fun, and she has fun, I don't really care what happens. Fun Quote! Dahleks be warned, you have declared war on Cybermen. This is not war. This is pest control! We have 5 million Cybermen. How many are you? We are 4. You would destroy the Cybermen with 4 Dahleks? It might be easier to just say which ones I've haven't been in. I'm fairly certain Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and furries are in that list of things I've not done. Sci-Fi, like other things, appeals to a certain crowd. It's like asking people what type of game system they prefer, or what type of genre, you only get so many responses for this or that.
